Current Claude models

Anthropic currently lists four broadly available API models: Claude Fable 5, Claude Opus 4.8, Claude Sonnet 5, and Claude Haiku 4.5. Mythos 5 shares Fable 5's underlying model and pricing but remains invitation-only for approved Project Glasswing customers.

Claude Fable 5: Anthropic's highest-capability widely released model. 1M-token context. $10 input and $50 output per million tokens.
Claude Opus 4.8: recommended for complex agentic coding and enterprise work. 1M-token context. $5 input and $25 output per million tokens.
Claude Sonnet 5: the default on Free and Pro and available across Claude Code and the API. 1M-token context. Introductory API pricing is $2 input and $10 output per million tokens through August 31, 2026; standard pricing is $3 and $15 after that.
Claude Haiku 4.5: the fastest current Claude model. 200K-token context. $1 input and $5 output per million tokens.

Fable 5 and Mythos 5 access

Fable 5 and Mythos 5 launched June 9, were suspended June 12 after a US export-control directive, and were redeployed July 1 after those controls were lifted. Fable 5 is available globally again. Mythos 5 was restored first to approved US organizations and remains limited to approved Project Glasswing customers rather than general self-service access.

Important operating detail

Fable 5 uses stricter safeguards than Opus-class models, and Anthropic requires 30-day retention for traffic on Fable 5, Mythos 5, and future Mythos-class models. Confirm those terms for your exact platform and account before production use.
