Claude Security Is in Public Beta — What CISOs and CEOs Need to Evaluate Before Going All-In
Anthropic just launched Claude Security in public beta today, and it's a fundamentally different approach to finding vulnerabilities in code. Built on Opus 4.7, it works directly from Claude.ai—no API keys to manage, no custom agents to build, no infrastructure to maintain. Enterprise customers have it now. Team and Max users get access soon.

What Claude Security Actually Does

Claude Security isn't a pattern-matching scanner. It understands code the way a security researcher does—tracing data flows across files, understanding component interactions, reading context. When it finds something, it explains its confidence level, severity, potential impact, and how to reproduce it. Then it generates a targeted patch.

You access it from your Claude.ai sidebar or at claude.ai/security. Pick a repository (or target a specific directory), kick off a scan, and Claude goes to work. Scheduled scans mean you can set a regular cadence without lifting a finger.

The Real Differentiator: Enterprise Integration Without the Friction

Traditional security scanning floods your team with false positives. Claude Security mitigates this with a multi-stage validation pipeline—each finding is independently examined before it reaches an analyst. Every result gets a confidence rating attached.

  • Dismiss findings with documented reasons (so future reviewers trust prior triage decisions)
  • Export findings as CSV or Markdown for existing tracking systems
  • Send results to Slack, Jira, or other tools via webhooks
  • Schedule scans on a regular cadence
  • Target scans at specific directories in a large repo

The 'zero integration' promise is real. No API setup. No custom agents. No waiting for an architect to approve infrastructure changes.

The Timing: Defensive Answer to Mythos

Two weeks ago, Anthropic released Claude Mythos Preview to select partners—a model so powerful at finding zero-day vulnerabilities that they called it 'terrifying' and delayed public release. In testing, Mythos discovered thousands of previously unknown vulnerabilities. Claude Security is the defensive counterpoint: now security teams can use AI to find those same zero-days in their own code before attackers do.

Who Gets It, When

  • Enterprise customers: Available now
  • Team plan users: Coming soon
  • Max plan users: Coming soon

Testing over the past two months involved hundreds of organizations across all sizes. Anthropic folded that feedback into the public beta launch today.

The Broader Context: Opus 4.7 as the Security Model

Opus 4.7 isn't just Claude Security's foundation. Anthropic is integrating Opus 4.7 into security tools from CrowdStrike, Microsoft Security, Palo Alto Networks, SentinelOne, TrendAI, and Wiz. The pattern is clear: Anthropic is positioning Claude as the reasoning engine for the entire enterprise security stack.

What This Means For You

For security teams: You now have a zero-setup vulnerability scanner that understands code semantics at a level traditional static analysis can't touch. Start scanning today if you're on Enterprise. Add Claude Security to your audit cycle the moment it hits your plan tier.

For developers using Claude Code: You're already building with AI. Claude Security lets you audit your own repos without waiting for security vendors. If you're shipping routines or autonomous agents, this is essential.

For organizations worried about AI agent safety: This is a concrete tool for constraining risk. Agents can't patch code they don't own, but they can flag what they find. Claude Security gives you the defensive layer that makes agent adoption less terrifying.
