How to use these prompts
Treat each prompt as a starting operating procedure. Replace the bracketed context, attach source material where possible, and ask Claude to state assumptions before drafting anything client-facing.

Which plan fits your practice
Individual consultants typically start with the Pro plan at $17 per month billed annually, or $20 per month on a monthly basis. Pro includes research access, multiple Claude model options, unlimited project organization, and Microsoft 365 integration covering Word, Excel, and Outlook. Small consulting teams of 5 to 150 people can move to the Team plan at $20 per seat per month billed annually, which adds central billing, SSO, admin controls, and SCIM provisioning for onboarding and offboarding staff at scale. Enterprise configurations go further: role-based access controls, audit logs, HIPAA-ready options, custom data retention, and IP allowlisting. For firms handling sensitive client data under compliance requirements, the Enterprise tier is worth reviewing with an Anthropic account team.
Client research synthesis prompt
You are helping me prepare a client research brief. Client: [client] Industry: [industry] Decision this brief supports: [decision] Source material: [paste notes or attach files] Create: 1. The 5 most important findings 2. Evidence for each finding 3. Strategic implications 4. Open questions 5. A client-ready executive summary under 250 words Flag any claims that need verification before I use them with the client.
Document and file analysis
Claude accepts PDF, Word, and Excel files. Attach a client document and ask for a structured analysis: key findings, data gaps, contradictions in the source material, or a plain-language summary your client can read without the original document. Claude can generate citations in APA, MLA, or Chicago format, which is useful when a deliverable needs sourced claims. It can also produce data visualizations and interactive reports from numerical data, converting a raw spreadsheet into a structured summary without additional tools. For research work spanning multiple markets or a large volume of source documents, Claude can synthesize patterns across everything you attach.
Analyze the following client documents. Documents: [attach or paste content] Client: [client name] Purpose: [pre-engagement review / due diligence / market scan / audit prep] Produce: 1. A one-page executive summary in plain English 2. Key themes and patterns across the documents 3. Data points that need verification before use with the client 4. Gaps in the available information 5. Recommended next steps based on what you find Format the output as a consultant memo. Cite specific sections when you draw a conclusion.
Strategy options prompt
Given this client context, generate 3 strategic options. For each option include: - What it means in plain English - When it is the right choice - Required capabilities - Risks and tradeoffs - 30-day next steps - What evidence would change the recommendation End with a recommended option and a short rationale.
Meeting preparation
Before a client meeting, Claude can draft a timed agenda, prepare talking points, anticipate likely questions from the other side, and produce a summary template for capturing decisions and next steps. For strategy workshops, Claude can generate structured facilitation exercises and output formats that transfer directly into a final report. Claude's Voice Mode also lets you think through a problem out loud and receive a structured response, which is useful when you are preparing for a high-stakes call and prefer talking through your thinking rather than typing.
Prepare me for an upcoming client meeting. Client: [client] Meeting type: [status review / strategy session / executive briefing / kick-off] Duration: [length] Attendees: [names and roles] Goal: [what decision or outcome do you need from this meeting?] Key issues to raise: [list] Produce: 1. A timed agenda 2. Three to five questions for me to ask the client 3. Questions the client is likely to ask me, with suggested responses 4. A brief framing statement to open the meeting 5. A decision and action log template to use during the session
Weekly client report prompt
Turn these project notes into a weekly client update. Audience: [sponsor / steering committee / working team] Tone: concise, direct, no hype Inputs: [paste notes, metrics, risks] Output: 1. Executive summary 2. Completed this week 3. Decisions needed 4. Risks and blockers 5. Next week plan 6. Owner/action table
Proposal and business development
Claude can structure a proposal from an outline or set of notes, draft an executive summary, and write sections covering scope, methodology, team, and pricing rationale. It is also useful before a new-business conversation: feed Claude background on a prospect's industry and the problem you believe they are facing, and ask for a hypothesis and a set of diagnostic questions. This prepares you to run a sharper first meeting. For full workflows and prompts on proposal writing, see the proposal writing guide linked at the bottom of this page.
Help me prepare for a new-business meeting. Prospect: [company name] Industry: [industry] Problem I think they are facing: [describe] Produce: 1. A one-paragraph hypothesis of their situation 2. Five diagnostic questions to test the hypothesis 3. How my firm would frame a proposal to address this 4. Risks if I have the situation wrong 5. What I want to know by the end of the first meeting
Managing multiple client engagements
Claude's Projects feature maintains persistent context across related conversations. Create one project per client engagement, add background documents and prior outputs, and Claude will carry that context into every subsequent session without requiring a re-briefing. This removes the overhead of re-explaining client history at the start of each task and prevents one client's context from crossing into another. Projects support a research function as well, allowing Claude to search and retrieve information within a defined body of source material. For firms running several active engagements at once, this is the cleanest way to keep client work organized and separated.
Choosing between Opus and Sonnet
Claude Opus 4.8 is Anthropic's most capable model for complex reasoning and long-horizon tasks. It is the better choice for nuanced client work: synthesizing ambiguous research, evaluating strategy tradeoffs, reviewing a contract for risk, or producing a final deliverable that requires careful judgment. Claude Sonnet 4.6 is faster and works well for drafting, summarizing, and tasks where turnaround time matters more than maximum depth. Both models support a 1M token context window, meaning they can process very large files, including full contracts, market research reports, and financial statements, without truncating the input.
